With summer in full swing, Skyscanner has slashed its prices for flights to green list countries including Malta and Croatia.
Travelling abroad just got a whole lot cheaper as Skyscanner has revealed that prices for Croatia, Germany and Latvia have all fallen since they were given the green light for last-minute trips abroad.
The Telegraph is reporting that air fares to nations such as Portugal and Greece have also dropped following the decision not to class them as amber-plus.
Flights to Malta and Latvia are available for bargain prices in August.
Flights can be purchased from £29, which is the lowest price ever offered on this route! A trip to Riga, Latvia starts at just £37 – that’s a great deal considering how expensive flights normally cost around that time of year.
Many European destinations are only a few clicks away from booking. With cheap deals on direct flights next week such as £31 for Cologne and Berlin from £55, it’s possible that any destination could be within reach.
Prices to Croatia are slightly more expensive, with outward seats starting at £135 for Split and £183 for Dubrovnik.
The green list saw new additions today when Germany and Latvia also joined the ranks.
As people start to regain confidence in traveling, airlines are using low prices as incentives. Skyscanner’s analyst Gavin Harris said travel firms were using low prices to help build confidence as people started to travel again and said prices were forecast to remain low.
“This extremely competitive marketplace is fantastic news for travellers looking for good value trips,” he said.
The Spanish tourism industry has been impacted by the pandemic, but prices of tickets are plummeting. For example: a return ticket to Alicante is at least 10% cheaper than before, and similar discounts can be found for Tenerife and Malaga.
Rory Boland of consumer group Which? explained that airlines had a lot of spare capacity as the number of flights remained dramatically reduced.
It means they can react quickly to any government announcements.
“They add flights, making more seats available, and that pushes prices down,” he said.
“Immediately when changes are announced you can see price increases because capacity has not had time to shift, but they tend to fall within a couple of days.
“Anyone booking a holiday to a green-list country should wait for a few days after travel restrictions have changed to get the cheapest flights,” he added.
The latest additions added to the green list also include: Slovakia, Latvia, Romania, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, and Norway.
